Shelley herself is a good reason for anyone to stay here-warmth, generosity, attentiveness and a huge laugh that fills a room keep the energy light and positive. She is also intuitive to the need and request for personal space and calm.
The suite is exquisite and tasteful, the morning sun fills the big windows that overlook the beach and endless skies. Just mention beach glass and you have a project and a knowledgeable guide for a shoreline walk.
Beautiful, clean, tastefully and carefully set up to fill every possible need...truly a lovely experience.
The beach house is absolutely beautiful! The B&B; suite retains much of it's original rustic charm with the large natual log columns and brick, then absolutely beautifully appointed modern decor to complete the warm welcome feel of this suite.
Shelly will do nothing but spoil you while you stay in this little peace of west coast paradise. Take a stroll through the old school english style gardens and pathways in the rear of the Beach House. This is absolutely enchanting . . . and . . . if you look very very closely you may be one of the lucky ones to catch a glimpse of the fairies that live in the wood. If the suite and gardens aren't enough to relax your weary body then stroll across the street to Salish Sea Beach House's private little piece of the sea, for a stroll down the beach where Shelly hunts for "Sea Glass". I can't say enough about how absolutely beautiful this B&B; location is, how relaxing you will find it, and how wonderfully Shelly will take care of your needs.
The inside is stunning. The kitchen and bathroom are beautiful, extremely clean, and had everything we needed. The bed is the perfect amount of firm and soft (coming from somebody with chronic back pain!) and is so wonderful to wake up in. The living room is lovely, the couch can turn into a pull out and it has a great sized flat screen tv. The lights have a dimmer which was perfect for me later in the evening. Everything you need is in the house. The inside of the B&B; is absolutely immaculate, comfortable, and very welcoming.
Shelley is a fantastic host, and has wonderful neighbors. The overall community is adorable and almost dreamlike. You feel very welcomed and very safe here. And again its in a very accessible location whether it be by boat, plane, car, or just getting to the store. And if you're looking for takeout one night I'd highly suggest Mariners Pizza! Perfect prices, great service, and they'll deliver!
I can't wait to come back here!
The view is absolutely incredible of the ocean right out the front door.
I loved the area, so peaceful and tranquil.
The Proprietor, Shelley Lewis is FUN too.
The town is adorable with lots of cute shops to poke around. My sister and I collect sea glass and there was a small beach in downtown area that was FULL of seaglass (lots found right out the front door of the B&B too).
It was a short ride to Victoria (we came in through Vancouver and Shelley picked us up at the Ferry!) We got to experience "High Tea" and lots more shopping in Victoria.
I would go back again in one heartbeat. Thank You Shelley !
Terrific location overlooking the water. We enjoyed the view, and loved walking on the beach. The suite was even better than the photos. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, spacious and inviting. We lived the decor and artwork.
Both the bed and pull-out couch were very comfortable. Yes, our adult daughter said the sofa bed mattress was so great she could sleep on it all the time! Our host, Shelley, thought of everything. From the nice toiletries in the bathroom, to robes, umbrellas and even an emergency kit!
We weren't sure of our schedule, so instead of having a breakfast prepared by Shelley, we opted to have some breakfast items provided- and Shelley provided plenty! A huge bowl of fresh fruit, along with bagels, bread, cream cheese, milk, juice and more!
One note - the bedroom is separated from the living area by a shoji screen, so if you need a private bedroom with a real door, this would not be for you. That being said, this was one of the nicest B&B's I have ever had the pleasure of staying in!
I definitely recommend the Salish Sea Beach House to anyone visiting the area!
We were looking for a destination that would provide us with a beautiful setting for our intimate (Small) wedding needs. We wanted to have a beachfront ceremony. We also wanted a beautiful suite for our honeymoon evenings. Then, there was also the hope that we would have a spot for some beautiful wedding pictures and a meal. The Salish Sea Beach House B&B provided all of this and much much more. Shelly went above and beyond in providing an unbelievable setting for our now very special wedding ceremony on the beach and a wonderful reception dinner in the absolutely magical English style garden in the back of the SSBH. The gardens must be seen to be appreciated. I cannot easily put into words all that the SSBH has to offer as an intimate beachfront wedding destination. The proprietor, Shelley Lewis is an unbelievable host who made all our hopes and dreams for our wedding day come to stunning colourful life! The SSBH property is beyond words and I would recommend this B&B to anybody and everybody whether it is for a beachfront wedding with stunning grounds and accommodations or just for a high end getaway on the beautiful Salish Sea in Sidney, BC. I cant imagine that anybody could find anything wrong with SSBH!! You and yours will be blown away!!! Thank you Shelley for all that you did for us to make our wedding day a memory we will all cherish forever!
We will be back!!!
LGBTQ friendly. We'll definitely be back.
Where do I even begin? This place is truly magical! I am forever grateful for this opportunity you gave Matt & I. I couldn't think of a better way to get to know you and bond and make memories I will never forget. You are the perfect host and we are already talking about another trip.
Miss you already,
With love Meghan xo P.S. Love to Selina too!
Shelley, There is no better way to wake up on my 1 year anniversary than beside my beautiful wife in you beautiful home! Thank you for you generosity and hospitality. You have provided me memories for a lifetime.
Love always, Matt
Another AMAZING year (4th in a row) of great mellow Zen comfort & delight. Peace & quiet & sleeping through the night takes away all the city's jangle. And this years soirée with the boys was even better than before. You know this will be happening EVERY year!
See you at the Reunion!
Hugs to the "Grey Princess" too!!!
We had a truly wonderful stay a the Salish Sea! This hidden gem made our weekend one to remember. We showed up a week early for our friend wedding (oops), but this allowed us to enjoy our stay and all the little parts that makes the Salish Sea a place of magic! Since this weekend was also our one year anniversary, it turned out to be exactly the relaxing getaway we wanted!
Thank you for a wonderful stay Shelley (Selina as well) and hope to see you soon again!
